Fire Blanket.
In the event of a ktchen fire:
The fire blanket is located in the kitchen mounted on the wall, instructions on how to operate are on the casing of the blanket itself.
Fire Alarms.
Daisy Cottage is fitted with 5 interlinked alarms mains connected with battery backup. These are a mixture of smoke, heat and carbon monoxide strategically placed throughout the cottage.
Upon hearing the fire alarm – LEAVE THE BUILDING IMMEDIATELY to the meeting point in the parking area by the woodstore.
Fire Ladder.
For the safety of guests sleeping on the first floor of the cottage, we have provided a fire ladder to aid any escape.
The fire ladder is located within the oak wardrobe within the dressing area outside the bedroom. Instructions for use may be seen on top of the wardrobe and on the ladder itself.
If all other exits are blocked during a fire, the ladder can be lowered from the main window in the upstairs bedroom.
The main window in the upstairs bedroom has a floating mullion giving the full window aperture for ease of escape in the event of a fire.
IMPORTANT: (do not try and use the fire ladder with the Velux windows).
Fire Extinguishers.
There are 2 x Kidde dry powder fire extinguishers within the property suitable for class A,B & C type fires:
- Class A is for rubbish, wood, and paper.
- Class B is for liquids and gases.
- Class C is for energized electrical sources.
Instructions on how to use the fire extinguisher can be found on the appliance.
The downstairs extinguisher is located in the cupboard under the stairs in the utility area. This extinguisher is held in by a strap. To release pull the red tag on the strap.
The upstairs fire extinguisher is located within the oak wardrobe within the dressing area outside the bedroom. A fire extinguisher sign may be seen on top of the wardrobe.
Emergency Lighting.
In each bedroom there are Xtralite Nightsafe torches. In the event of fire affecting the electricity in the building, these lights will automatically light up.
